Senior Staff Scientist
Dr Chai-Ann Ng is a senior staff scientist who leads the ion channel functional genomics program within the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab headed by Prof Jamie Vandenberg at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. He is a pioneer in using automated patch clamp electrophysiology to quantify the defect of ion channel variants that can cause long QT syndrome. He provides functional evidence for VUS reclassification in KCNH2 using his validated patch clamp assay where he is a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for variant classification. He will also develop and validate similar assays for SCN5A and KCNQ1 in the future.
